Chmoy Mill was originally a working corn mill; it was converted about 50 years ago and completely renovated recently. It was one of two working corn mills in the Penberth Valley. The house sleeps five, with a further two in ‘Uncle Tom’s Cabin’ a small barn in the enclosed garden. The garden is mostly lawn and borders on the Penberth River.
The mill is within five minutes walk of Penberth Cove, one of the remaining unspoilt working fishing coves in Cornwall, owned by the National Trust and with access to the South West Coast Path. Cited by the ‘Lonely Planet Guide’ as “one of the world’s best walks beside water in remote beautiful areas”.
The ancient and thriving village of Treen with its well known Logan Rock Inn is a ten minute walk in the opposite direction. Some of the best surfing beaches, such as Sennen, are close by, as is the Minack Theatre and Porthcurno. St Buryan, with a well stocked village shop and post office is a short drive away.
Chmoy Mill, in the gardens at Penberth, offers comfortable accommodation for families wanting to explore West Cornwall.
