This is a medium sized shrub. Commonly known as the Royal Hakea it is endemic to the South coastal regions of Western Australia. It grows amongst rocky slopes in a sandy soil. It is renowned for the vibrant and varied colours of the foliage which is always admired from near and far.
It has leathery leaves which makes this plant a great choice for coastal conditions. Can be used in a free draining bed or they also grow well in a pot with a free draining compost. They are best grown in a sunny aspect and are tolerant to a moderate frost.
