This Protea has a common name of forest sugarbush as it grows in the forest margin up to 1300m elevation in Cape provinces of South Africa. The Ivory white flowers attract bees, butterflies and bird with it's nectar. The elliptical bright grey-green leaves are attractive in their own right with the young leaves having a velvety covering of small fine hair. Protect from severe frosts but will tolerate down to -4c.
Like all Protea grow in a free draining acidic soil/compost that is fertilizer free. Good drainage is key as well as a sunny position.
