Agapanthus inapertus ssp pendulus 'Graskop'
This striking deciduous agapanthus is a clump forming perennial that will grow to 60cm across and in height. The strappy green leaves will form neat mounds that will be topped by flower spikes in July and August. These will start with a dark purple/black flower bud which opens to reveal very dark purple pendulous flowers approx. 30cm above the foliage. As it is deciduous it is said to be hardier than the evergreen varieties. It is good to mulch in the autumn if you live in a cold area. Plant in a sunny location in a well drained soil. Currently Dormant.
