This Agave is unusual in the fact that unlike many agave is doesn't have any spines along the leaf edges or terminal spines. The pale green, silvery leaves form a compact rosette of succulent leaves up to 120cm (4Ft) across. As the plant matures the rosette of leaves arch backwards resembling an open flower. The come name for this agave is foxtail agave this because of the form of the flower as it grows, it bears greenish-yellow flowers along the flower spike which develop into seed pods and new plantlets. Like most agave this species will make an excellent focal point or accent plant for a decorative pot or garden boarder. Plant in a free draining soil or compost and will look at it's best is full sun in an open position.
