The Australian Indigo or Austral indigo, an attractive species of leguminous shrub. An upright evergreen shrub with an open, arching to spreading habit. The pinnate leaves are a lovely blue-green colour and racemes of purple-pink pea like flowers are produced throughout spring. These are followed by bright green seedpods that turn reddish brown when ripe. Height and spread 2m after 5 to 10 years. They prefer moist but well drained neutral to acidic soil. Full sun to partial shade.
