A solitary clump forming succulent with chalky white leaves. It will grow into a stout rosette up to 30cm across. during the summer it will produce silvery white flower spike up to 60cm tall which arch and turn blush red as the yellow flowers develop. It will make a great coastal garden plant as well as a spectacular plant for a pot or container in an urban setting. It's not fully hardy but will tolerate cool conditions especially when kept on the dry side, like all succulent it prefer to be dry than too wet. Ideally if possible always try to water from below using a dish or saucer as if you water from above you can discolour the leaves with the water. It is native to the Pacific coast of California.
