Echinocactus grusonii

The Golden Barrel cactus. Often referred to as Mother-in-Laws Pillow/cushion. A deeply ribbed cactus each covered in creamy yellow spines. In the crown wooly white hairs grow, when mature they may produce cup shaped vivid yellow flowers. Give plenty of sun and do not over water, allowing the top of the soil/compost to dry out before watering. Keep frost free in the winter and best to avoid cold drafts. As these grow in the Mexican deserts they like a dry air so they are best not used in kitchens and bathrooms with steamy atmospheres. Although this plant is not toxic they do have sharp spines so be warned!!!!!
