Watsonia marginata

A lovely variety with attractive bluish-green broad leaves and cup shaped pink or white flowers. The flowers are different to other Watsonia as they are symmetrical with two identical halves along all planes. W.marginata flowers are cup shaped and more Ixia like than other Watsonia which are more tubular like. This deciduous specie is winter growing and summer dormant, flowering at a height of 1.2-1.5m. The spike has several branches each carrying a few flowers so one flower spike can have up to 50 flowers over a 4 week flowering period.
