Echium nervosum

A lovely compact branching shrub which is native to Madeira. Growing on the sunny but rocky slopes. Ideally grow in a well drained soil or compost in a large pot or container. Reaching 1 to 1.5m. The pale green narrow leaves are hairy with a silvery underside and covered in small hairs. The inflorescences are pale blue funnel shaped and up to 25cm tall so more compact than it's cousin Echium pininana. A rarely offered specie of the Echium family. Like all of the Echium family these are great magnets for bees and other pollinators in the garden situation.
