Formally known as Chondropetalum tectorum. This is a reed like perennial from South Africa. It is used to thatch the huts and houses in the bush. when mature it produces brown grass-like flower spikes in autumn. It grows to a height of 75cm and looks stunning in the front of borders for all year round evergreen colour. It prefers well-drained moisture retentive, not waterlogged just moist year round, acidic soil in full sun. Hardy to -7c.
