Agave americana 'Century plant'
This Agave is one of the tougher varieties. Large broad leaves that can reach up to 1m in length and 30cm wide. There are spines down the edge of the leaf and have a terminal spine that is long and VERY sharp. Beware these can be poisonous if they catch you and they do have a tendency to bite when you are not looking. Height 1.5m and spread 2m. Not fully hardy but will tolerate cold temperatures if kept dry. Great specimen plant for a sunny free draining position, best kept away from paths.
