Aloe polyphylla 'The Spiral Aloe'

This is one of the most unusual plants we sell. It is a succulent from Lesotho and grows in the Drakensberg mountains above the snow line so will tolerate the cold. It grows as a single rosette with the leaves growing in a spiral formation these can grow in a clockwise or anti clockwise spiral. It produces a flower spike of red, orange and yellow flowers and is very spectacular. Height 60cm(flower spike) and spread 60cm. Because this is such a spectacular plant it has been hunted in the wild to near extinction and so is on the red list for endangered plants. Protect from severe frost.
