This is one of the ground cover/dwarf spreading Banksias which are part of the Protea family. It has horizontal branches and very low growing. It originates from the South West of Perth, Australia. It has dusky red flower heads of 15-20cm tall which are pollinated by native ants. It will grow best in light well drained soils with full sun to partial shade and in the garden situation will grow best with regular watering during the warmer growing months although will tolerate drought conditions once established. It will make a great costal plant and also works well as a container plant. Height 30cm and spread 1m Hardy to minus 5c
