Commonly known as the Scarlet Banksia. This Banksia grows naturally around the South West coast of Australia. The oblong leathery leaves are 3-9cm long and 2-7cm wide. Prominant red and white flowers spikes appear in spring/early summer. One of my favourite Banksia flowers and is widely considered so by many. Best grown in a sunny location with well drained soil makes a great coastal plant. A showy member of the Protea family.
