With common names like Chalk lettuce or Chalk Dudleya it is interesting enough without seeing it for yourself. The beautiful succulent grows as a wide rosette with flat fleshy pale green/white leaves. It spring it may produce tall upright stems that get to about 30cm tall. These bear pale green/white flower clusters that can open into thousands of pointy rosy red flowers. Ideally planted on a slop or bank to stop the plant holding rain water. Best grown in a free draining substrate and makes an ideal candidate for a dry scree or rockery and tolerates drought conditions.
