Leucadendron coniferum

Also known as the dune conebush. An evergreen shrub/small tree. This shrub is a member of the Protea family. It has a whorl of conspicuous yellow leaves, the flowers/cones are formed in late summer. This South African resident grows in sandy soils near the coast of the Western Cape province. Best grown in full sun in a free draining acid soil or can be container grown.
