The Fire Wheel Tree

It gets it's name from the flowers that are striking and remarkable, the unusual formed flowers are a deep orange/red with yellow tips. Growing in it's native Australia it can get to a tree but in the UK it will be far slower growing and probably never get beyond a small tree. Coming from the Protea family it is best grown in an acidic soil that is free draining and in a sunny location but will tolerate shade, it is often used as street planting in Australia.

The leaves develope from juvenile through to mature dark green leaves that can vary.
